Head of Legal
Brenda Schönenberger graduated with a bilingual Master of Law at the Universities of Lucerne and Neuchatel. After completing her studies Brenda worked as an auditor at the Administrative Court for the Canton of Aargau as well as a trainee in a law firm in Zürich. Afterwards Brenda was admitted as an attorney-at-law in Aargau and worked as a lawyer in a law firm in Winterthur. Since January 2016, she advises as a lawyer and consultant company founders at STARTUPS.CH. Since December 2016 Brenda Schönenberger is Head of Legal of STARTUPS.CH. Brenda is fluent in German, English and French.
Manager of STARTUPS.CH in Western Switzerland and Consultant
After earning a degree in business and a Matura in economics at the College of Business and Economics in Geneva, Oana Ioan received her law degree in 2006 from the University of Geneva Law School (Master – UNIGE). Her expertise is in corporate law and contracts. She worked for several years in a law firm, for the Canton of Geneva, and at a trust company. She speaks French, English, Italian, and Romanian. Since 2013, Oana Ioan has been the director of the French-speaking Swiss branch of STARTUPS.CH. In parallel, she has been supporting the Zurich team since 2018 through client consultations in the languages she speaks.
Paul Benoît Duvoisin
After completing his law studies at the University of Lausanne in 2005, Paul Duvoisin obtained in 2007 a postgraduate degree in business law (LL.M. in business law) from the University of Geneva. He subsequently taught and did research at the University of Geneva. He is the author of several scientific articles. He speaks French, English and some Portuguese. In 2015, Paul Duvoisin joined the Romandie section of STARTUPS.CH as a lawyer and consultant.
Head of Customer Care Center Winterthur
Sabrina Egg completed her commercial apprenticeship at ZKB and subsequently earned a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Law at ZHAW. During her studies, she primarily worked as a legal assistant. After 5 years of experience abroad in the IT industry in Ireland, Sabrina has now been advising the company founder at STARTUPS.CH since May 2017 in German and English and works as the Customer Care Centre manager in Winterthur.
After completing her law studies, Sarah Binz articled with a lawyer’s office in Zurich. She obtained her law degree in the canton of Zurich and worked there as an attorney. She also worked as a lawyer for the cantonal administration. She works since October 2016 as a lawyer and consultant at STARTUPS.CH. Sarah is fluent in German, English and French.
Mario Koller has successfully completed a apprenticeship in the banking sector. He also studied Law and Economics at the ZHAW and received a Masters in Law from the University of Lucerne. Mario has extensive experience working with several banks. He has also worked as a tax commissioner and tax expert in the canton of Zurich. Mario Koller joined the STARTUPS.CH legal team in November 2016. He is fluent in German and English.
Simon Jakob has a master degree in Law & Economics from the University of St. Gallen, HSG. After his studies Simon worked as an auditor at the district court Werdenberg-Sarganserland. After passing the bar exam he worked as an accountant for one of the big-four. Since March 2017 Simon consults founders of companies at STARTUPS.CH in English, German and French.
Valentin Roten joined STARTUPS.CH SA's French-speaking Switzerland section as a lawyer and business consultant for entrepreneurs in 2017. In 2017, after completing his legal internship with an international business law firm in Geneva, he was admitted to the Bar. Valentin holds a bilingual Master’s degree in Law, which he obtained from the Universities of Geneva and Basel in 2015, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law, which he obtained from the University of Geneva in 2013. In addition, in 2015 he completed an exchange semester at the Lomonosov University in Moscow. He is the author of various articles published in many legal journals. Besides, Valentin has a good understanding of economics and finance; in 2017 he successfully passed the CFA Level 1 exam to get certified as an international finance expert. He speaks French, English and German, and understands Russian and Spanish.
Lorena Belardo first completed a commercial apprenticeship. She then studied business law at the ZHAW. Lorena has already gained several experiences in the financial sector. Since July 2018 she has been advising company founders at STARTUPS.CH in various legal matters. Lorena is fluent in German, English and Italian.
